Charting

Song-form, not bar-by-bar

A row per section Intro, Verse, Chorus, each with bar count, energy level, and a lyric cue.
Any meter 4/4, 6/8, 5/8, 7/8: free-meter grids, not just common time.
Multi-bar grooves Grooves span bars, with condensed one-bar-repeat signs (𝄎).
Duplicate & reorder Build a section, copy it, move the form into shape.
Flow chart — every bar on a staff The same song written out bar by bar, wrapping across the page like sheet music, instead of a row per section. It uses the same editor and counts toward the same 25-chart limit as a chart.
Blank bars, on purpose A bar can carry just a cue or a pen mark and still be a finished page. Write out only what you need to see.

AI & audio

Name the song Type a song, or just describe a feel, and get a starting chart: the form, tempo, feel notes and cues, ready to fine-tune in the editor.
Or upload the recording Upload a recording and ChartBlazer measures the tempo, sections, bar counts, and where the drums drop out, from your recording rather than the album version. The AI then labels what it measured.
Or bring the chart Upload a chart PDF from any app and it comes back as a chart: the section names and order, the playing directions, and the first words of each section as cues, with a groove drafted for you to check.
Strongest on songs it knows A typed draft comes from what the model knows of the song, so well-known songs come out strong and originals won’t. Give every draft a listen against the record.
Four levels of draft From a quick outline to the finest full pass, each priced in credits. Every Pro payment adds credits, and they never expire. The free trial comes with its own credits to try on your own songs.

Notation

Real percussion notation Proper staves, beams, and tuplets. Rendered live, not images.
14 kit voices Kick, snare, toms, hats (open/closed/foot), ride + bell, crash, china, cowbell, cross-stick.
Accent, ghost, flam & rolls Per-note detail: accent marks, parenthesized ghosts, real grace-note flams, and slashes through the stem for doubles and rolls.
Sticking R and L under the notes, where a method book prints them: per step, on any drum.
Colored cues Highlight text in color and outline whole sections for a glance-read.
Color a chart in one tap Every Verse, Chorus and Bridge takes its own color by name. Pick the scheme once; colors you set by hand always stand.

Editing

Tap a grid, not noteheads Big step targets on a touchscreen. The notation engraves live as you tap.
Copy / paste bars Reuse a bar across the groove, across grooves, across sections.
Your groove library Save a groove once and drop it into any chart. Each one drawn on a real staff, so you pick by sight.
Undo / redo Deep history with keyboard shortcuts. A burst of edits undoes as one step.
Stylus markup Pen, highlighter, and notes over the chart, pressure-sensitive.

Sound

Real acoustic samples Recorded acoustic drums (CC0) for every voice.
Velocity playback Accents play louder, ghosts softer, flams as two strikes, and rolls as repeated strokes.
Play any groove Tap a groove while you read and it loops at the chart tempo. Tap it in Edit and the groove editor opens instead.
Built-in metronome A hideable click + visual beat at the chart’s tempo.
Reference track Pin the original recording (YouTube or Spotify) to a chart and play it right there.

Reading

Two-column newspaper flow Flip a chart into two columns that read down, then across, so an entire song fits one page or screen. Charts only: a flow chart already wraps its bars across the page.
Size every element A− / A+ scales the whole chart at once; titles, cues, notes and grooves also move apart, and each section has its own fine-tune on top.
Fit to one page On by default: a chart shrinks until the whole song fits one sheet. Clear the box if you’d rather have two readable pages. A flow chart skips this and prints across as many pages as the music needs.
Your columns, your widths Drag column edges to balance cues against notation; rows stay tight so more of the song fits.
Page width Normal, Wide or Full: let the chart use the whole screen on a tablet in landscape. Remembered per device.
Prints as laid out The two-column flow carries straight into print and PDF; the page is re-laid out to fill the paper, so notation stays big.

Gig Blazer

Setlists Group charts into a named, ordered gig. A song can live in many gigs.
Stage view Page song-to-song with a tap, swipe, or arrow keys, and the screen stays awake for the whole set.
Reorder & cues Nudge songs into order with a tap; add per-song transition cues (“count-in 4”).
Sized per song Make the hard one bigger for this gig only. The chart’s own page, and every other set it’s in, keep their size.
One PDF for the set Print the entire setlist to a single document, behind a cover sheet with the running order.
